The Club fosters harmony and friendship among its members and with the surrounding communities; it encourages and supports social and recreational interrelationships Individuals interested in becoming a member of CCNC, must be sponsored by a current member. This sponsor will assist the candidate with the application process, including obtaining letters of recommendation and familiarizing the candidate with the Club and its members. All prospective members are circulated for the membership at large to comment on their candidacy.
The 45,000 square foot Clubhouse sits upon a hilltop with spectacular views of the Watson Lake, the waterfall from the Dogwood Terrace, Dogwood Fairways and manicured greens. It has an engaging setting, with old south charm. The Royal Dornoch Ballroom can accommodate up to 250 people for weddings and events and it has a baby grand piano.
This is where the members enjoy assorted dining experiences in a variety of venues from a casual comfort to formal ambience — including the Royal Dornoch Ballroom, Cardinal Dining Room, Dogwood Pub and Terrace, Lake Terrace, Private Dining Room and Bar.
In addition, the Clubhouse contains locker rooms with attendants, a full-service Golf Pro Shop with the industry’s most recognized and up-to-date clothing, merchandise and equipment.
For those who wish to use their computer in the Clubhouse, certain areas, such as the conference rooms, bar, ballroom and private dining room are equipped with a wireless network.
CCNC is best known for its outstanding golf courses. The Dogwood course opened in 1963 and has been the venue for many championship events including three Carolinas Amateurs, six Southern Amateurs and the 1980 USGA Amateur. Nine holes of the Cardinal course opened in 1970, with the second nine completed in 1981. Both courses are ranked in the top 15 in North Carolina.
The club has a full golf schedule with a variety of events for ladies, men and juniors, and the professional staff offers a wide range of instructional options including private lessons and group clinics. The practice facility underwent a complete renovation in 2006, and provides an outstanding environment for golfers to work on all aspects of their games.CCNC was the proud host site for 2010 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship contested July 19-24 on the Dogwood Course.
